Key Features
What ScanSense does
-
01

Reads screens and cards
One reader handles phone QR codes and 13.56 MHz Mifare or DESFire cards, so residents and visitors use the same entry point.
-
02

Offline validation
Signed tokens are checked on the reader itself, so gates keep working through network outages and there is no cloud round trip.
-
03

Single-use and timed passes
Passes can be one-time, time-boxed or recurring, which suits delivery riders, contractors and weekly cleaners.
-
04

Rider-friendly delivery passes
Residents share a 30-minute pass with Grab or foodpanda riders, who go straight to the lift lobby instead of the guard house.
-
05

Drop-in for existing panels
Wiegand 26/34 and RS485 outputs let the reader replace an old card reader without rewiring the access panel.
-
06

Built for outdoor gates
IP66 housing and a sunlight-tolerant imager suit pedestrian side gates, car park lifts and bin centres.

FAQ
Common questions
Can a visitor reuse a screenshot of the QR code?
Only within the pass rules. Single-entry passes are marked used on the first scan and the reader rejects any repeat, even from a screenshot.
Does it work in direct sunlight?
Yes. The imager and LED illumination are tuned for outdoor gates, though a hood is recommended where the reader faces the afternoon sun.
What if the site loses internet?
The reader validates signed tokens locally with the site’s public key. New passes issued during the outage work as normal; only revocations wait for the link to return.
Can residents keep their existing cards?
Yes. The reader also reads 13.56 MHz Mifare and DESFire cards, so cards and QR codes can be used side by side.
